Welcome to our first issue of our SABLE VFW Post 2275 website. All members will receive this initial issue via the mail but all future issues will be available on this site. If you do not have a computer, ask a neighbor or visit your local library. On this site you will find information on meeting date and times, upcoming events and special events. I hope that you find this interesting and informative.

Please note in our Senior vice Commander Keith MacDonald's article the special membership offer for annual members. We really want to get to 100% membership by December 31. Once January 1st arrives and you have not renewed, you will no longer be a Post member.

You will also see the listing of your Post and Auxiliary Officers. You may contact them or me with any questions or concerns.

SABLE VFW Post 2275 was chartered on October 31. 1931. We have an incredible history of community service and military support. That military support includes active duty, reserve, veterans and all of the families involved. We steadfastly maintain that tradition today.

If you are active in the Post, thank you. If you are not, please consider doing something to help. We have many members who do not live in the San Diego area. You could help long-range. Please let me know if you are interested and we will see what we can do.

Madame President
Sisters,

First of all I want to thank you for electing me as your President for the 2009-2010 year. I know the Auxiliary and Post will be working together for a fabulous year! I also want to congratulate Doug Carrington on his election as well as his officers and chairmen. We both have a lot of important programs to promote and as always we will be supporting one another. I want to thank all of my officers and chairmen for taking their positions and I appreciate all of you taking your valuable time to support this Post and Auxiliary and our veterans.

I would like to congratulate Past President Marilyn Richardes for achieving the high awards of Allstate President and Outstanding President! We are so proud of you and thank you for your many years of service.

Our September Auxiliary meeting on Wednesday September 9th at 6:30 p.m. will be our annual inspection by the District President. Please plan on attending this important meeting so we can show District President Rosanna Vasquez what a great Auxiliary SABLE is!!!!

In closing I just want to emphasize the importance of membership. We need to stay strong to support our veterans and their families and the best way to do that is through our membership. Thank you for all you do!!

The Post membership drive for this year has begun. All continuous members should have received a letter from the Commander offering you a great deal to pay your dues. In today's trying economy many people opt not to pay dues to organizations in order to save money. The Commander has offered you a two year membership for slightly more than the price of one. Plus a chance to win a Life Membership.

Comrades please pay your dues directly to the Post Quartermaster in order take part of this deal, and please, DO IT NOW!!

I look forward to seeing you all at the meetings and at the canteen.

• The Post and Auxiliary will be hosting a joint 9/11 remembrance ceremony on Wednesday Sept. 9th at 7:00pm. Please join us and let us all never forget 9/11.
• Please join us on Friday, September 18th as we remember out POW/Mia's at 5:00pm
• Join us for Hank, Frank & Tank's Trivia Challenge and TJ Tacos on Saturday September 26th. TJ Tacos will be served from 5 - 7:00pm with the Trivia Challenge following.
